Welcome! I’m Maider Ithurbide, founder and Travel Designer at Ederra Travel. I specialize in designing bespoke journeys that feel effortless, deeply personal, and beautifully aligned with your vision.
Born and raised in the southwest of France with strong Basque roots, the word Ederra—"beautiful" in Basque—has always resonated with me. It perfectly captures what I believe travel should be: intentional, enriching, and unforgettable.
Having explored over 30 countries, I’ve found beauty in moments big and small—from a life-changing safari in South Africa to an impromptu dinner with locals in Vietnam. One of my most defining chapters was a year-long journey around the world with my husband, which taught me the value of both meaningful planning and spontaneous magic. Now based in beautiful Franklin, Tennessee, I design immersive, custom itineraries for clients around the globe, while enjoying the outdoors with my husband and our two daughters.

With over a decade of experience across luxury hospitality, destination management, and custom itinerary design, I blend creativity, logistical precision, and genuine care into every journey I create.

As a French native living in the U.S., I understand exactly what American travelers expect—and more importantly, how to deliver these expectations abroad with nuance and care.
